A sweet homecoming.

The century-old brand deserved a space that felt like it. The location they chose was a former bank, which made the design brief even sweeter. We leaned into everything the building had to offer. The bank’s vaulted ceiling became a key feature, and the generous windows flood the retail floor with natural light. Customers can meander in the natural flow of the space and savor as they see fit — from the merchandising floor through the chocolate cases, past the ice cream counter, to a small seating area that invites them to slow down and stay a while. The custom millwork is classic and offers loads of space to showcase the wide range of Hilliard’s artisanal treats. It was a tremendous pleasure working with such a beloved, local, and family-owned brand. Now they have a store that welcomes them back home and looks ahead toward their future.
