Passive Multifamily

With the Assembly Square and Sullivan Square areas booming, East Somerville is becoming more and more of a hot spot to live. But developing new multifamily units doesn’t mean you need to sacrifice building high-performance energy efficiency.

Our clients came to us looking to develop several lots in this East Somerville neighborhood. They wanted to maximize as much of the buildable square footage as allowable by zoning while also creating a modern, attractive, and highly efficient building. The result is this beautiful 10-unit multi-family consisting of four 1-bedroom units, five 2-bedroom units, and one 3-bedroom unit, with a large shared roof deck, basement, and enclosed bicycle parking. All of this done while complying with Net Zero Energy consumption and pursuing Net Zero using PHIUS certification. Great design using great methods in a great neighborhood? Sounds great for everyone.
