Arborway Attic Conversion
For this particular project, our clients were two musicians with a growing family who absolutely needed more living space. Their existing attic was the perfect place for that transformation.
To start, we built a new open stair to make the second and third floors feel more connected. This also helped make the apartment make feel larger as a whole. We added a dormer to the center of the attic to get a little more head height and create a greater living room area. Then we bookended the resulting living space with two additional bedrooms and an additional full bath. We finished it all off with several large new windows, skylights, and tension rods as collar ties, to make sure it all stayed airy and open. Now there is plenty of space for both kids and parents to jam out.
