Area Four at Alexandria
The original Area Four is a long-time favorite in Kendall Square. But with so much development in the area, the opportunity came to expand and create a second, smaller location at Alexandria Center. What it lacks in square footage, it more than makes up for with deliciousness and design oomph.
We worked closely with both the Area Four and Alexandria teams throughout the design process to create a café concept that carries the familiar and bold vibe of Area Four while also Alexandria's elevated, cutting-edge aesthetic. Overall, the space is a bright and welcoming place to rest and recharge, but also be inspired and energized. The attention-grabbing lighting pours down as the striking mural surrounds you and piques discovery. Behind the counter, the teal espresso machine churns out neuron fuel as the kitchen handcrafts pastries, sandwiches, and of course, Area Four pizzas. Whatever hour you find yourself working, they’ve got the goods to keep you ideating.
