A modern cocktail bar
with an old soul.
Darling
Darling is Cambridge's newest cocktail bar and dim sum concept, where you're transported out of Central Square and into somewhere else entirely. From the street, you enter through an industrial vestibule: raw, grounded, a little mysterious. Round the corner and everything shifts.
The bar and dining room open up in warm, dimly lit contrast — clean lines, a contemporary palette, and a cozy intimacy you didn't see coming. The space pays homage to its storied past — Mary Chung’s, a Camridbge institution — while delivering an experience that feels wholly its own. The spirit of the space shows up in the details. We layered in clean, contemporary finishes along with existing materials. A circular corner booth echoes the round tables and lazy Susans of a family-style Chinese dinner. The mural behind the banquette brings in gold leaf and Chinese-inspired imagery paired with a historic wall from Mary Chung’s. It’s a stunner, if we must say so ourselves. And neon signage adds a pop of brightness and authentic night-life edge. Darling is proof that a great bar doesn't just serve great drinks. It transports you. In place. And time.
