Overall the space was a very limiting space, so we had to pack a lot of functional and fun punch within it. The back-of-house is tidy and super efficient, cranking out delicious hot dogs and a Best of Boston double mushroom vegetarian “steak”& cheese. The ordering line and counter anchor the space with the all-important ice cream dipping cabinet. There you’ll find Gracie’s insanely good, handmade ice creams, which can be scooped and served up the PG way or whipped into boozy frappes. Fun illustrations sprinkle across the space, speaking to the brand’s playful vibe, while Dolly Parton dominates the bathroom in all her glory. (She’s a national treasure.) Like many ice cream parlors, there are a few stools to hang out on inside, but seating is primarily outside on the patio for maximum sippage and socialization. Like six scoops packed into a three-scoop bowl, topped with hot fudge and gummi bears, it’s a lot in a little space–but very Gracie’s and very, very good.
