Space to grow.
Hopkinton Residence
Our fantastic clients for this project were looking to put down more substantial roots for their growing family and connect more with nature by building their dream home. We were honored to make it a reality by designing it from the ground up.
They were very intentional in selecting the home’s setting – surrounded by woods and protected wetlands– so we were equally intentional to maximize this. We made the most of the narrow lot, elongated the footprint, and created a more vertical home design with tall windows that let loads of natural light in while also showcasing the views of the woods. From there, the centrally located staircase ties the three levels together and creates additional height with various sightlines. The main level is very purpose-built for family living and entertaining, both extremely important aspects of our clients’ lives. Family and friends have plenty of room to gather year-round, inside the 3-season room or on the wrap-around porch. The second floor boasts two large bedrooms, a home office space, a dedicated laundry room, and a sprawling primary suite. The lower level extends the main entertaining space with large glass doors and walk-out access to the woods. Unique touches like real gas lanterns, a built-in grill, a steam shower, and a soaker tub continue to naturally pamper the senses and provide a restful retreat that our clients can functionally live in. Overall, the home is welcoming, modern, cozy, and every nook and cranny invites you to reconnect with what’s most important.
