Our clients’ dream was to design a property that embraces the very best that Maine has to offer: the beautiful, changing seasons, the piney woods, the rocky coast, the restful retreat, the gathering of family and friends, and passing it down from generation to generation. We couldn’t be more honored to help make it a reality. The site itself is on an absolutely stunning point with views of Acadia National Park, so everything we designed is meant to maximize the spectacular surroundings and keep them as pure as possible. The structure at the center of it all is the main house. All 3,300 square feet of it work to draw the outside, in with natural light at all times of the day. The primary wing, perpendicular to the bluff, is the centerpiece, showcasing the vast ocean view to the east and a nearby lighthouse through 24-foot-high windows. Here, our clients can take in nature wholly yet very comfortably while enjoying the large indoor/outdoor stone fireplace. Whatever the season, you can enjoy everything, inside or out. The connected kitchen wing points north towards the bay with gorgeous views of Acadia’s Cadillac Mountain, and the primary suite captures intimate glimpses of the small islands off the coast. Further back, the guest suite is no slouch with private views of the bay, surrounding forest, and the private beach path. Adjacent to the main house are the carriage house and recreation barn. The carriage house offers a 600-square-foot guest suite above a garage that holds all of the functions of a home while providing covered space for parking, storage, and property maintenance. The 2,000 square foot recreation barn provides ample overflow space to serve and entertain even the largest of parties and family gatherings. From the freshwater stone sinks in the bathrooms to the wood shower floors and the stone backsplashes, natural elements are integrated thoughtfully and seamlessly into every room throughout the estate– connecting the beautiful interiors with the beautiful natural world surrounding it.
